Privacy Policy
Summary: Liddi only collects data you explicitly choose to share. On the website, we collect the information you enter in the early access form. The extension syncs only your own LinkedIn post metrics, manually or automatically only if you enable that option. Post text is processed by AI services solely to generate your editorial analysis. Name, email and profile picture are collected through the dashboard authentication flow. We never sell your data. Ever.
1. Who We Are
Liddi ("we", "us", "our") is the developer of the Liddi for LinkedIn browser extension for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and the liddi.app website and dashboard, based in Italy. Our services are accessible at liddi.app and dashboard.liddi.app. For any privacy-related inquiry, contact us at: privacy@liddi.app.
2. What Data We Collect
2a. Website (liddi.app) — Early Access Form
When you submit the early access form on liddi.app, all fields are mandatory. We collect:
- First name (text input)
- Last name (text input)
- Email address (email input)
- Professional role / occupation (text input)
- Reason for interest in Liddi (textarea)
This data is used exclusively to manage the early access waitlist, send you access to the dashboard, and communicate updates about the product. We do not use it for advertising or resell it to third parties.
2b. Website
With your explicit consent (via cookie banner), we use:
- Google Analytics 4: to understand aggregate site traffic and usage patterns.
- Microsoft Clarity: to record anonymised session heatmaps and understand how visitors navigate the site.
These services are activated only after you give consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by updating your cookie preferences.
2c. Browser Extension (Liddi for LinkedIn)
The Extension collects post data only when you trigger a sync. Sync can happen in two ways: manually, by clicking the sync button on each post, or automatically, only if you explicitly enable the Auto-sync option. If Auto-sync is disabled (the default), no data is ever transmitted without your active action.
For each post you sync, the Extension collects:
- Text content of the post
- Number of impressions
- Number of comments
- Number of likes
- Publication date
- Image URL (if the post contains an image)
- Format flags: whether the post contains a poll, a repost, a video, or a carousel
The Extension also stores locally in your browser's localStorage:
- User identifier (UUID): a code you manually enter to link the Extension to your Liddi account. It does not contain personal information.
- Sync timestamps: the date and time of each sync operation.
We do not collect via the Extension: your name, email address, LinkedIn credentials, profile picture, connections, private messages, browsing history, or any data from pages other than your own LinkedIn activity feed and post detail pages.
2d. Dashboard
When you access the Liddi dashboard, we collect the following profile data from your LinkedIn account via the authentication flow:
- Display name
- Email address
- Profile picture URL
This data is used exclusively to identify your account and personalise your dashboard experience.
3. How We Collect It
3a. Website form
Form data is submitted voluntarily by you and processed via Tally (our form provider) and stored in our backend. See Section 6 for details on Tally as a sub-processor.
3b. Browser Extension
The Extension requests access to linkedin.com exclusively to read the HTML content of your own
LinkedIn activity page (linkedin.com/in/me/recent-activity/all/) and individual post detail pages.
This permission is strictly necessary to extract your own post metrics and is used for no other purpose. The
Extension does not access any other LinkedIn pages, other users' profiles, or any other website.
No data is collected in the background, no keystrokes are recorded, and no data is ever transmitted unless you manually click the sync button on a post, or have explicitly enabled the Auto-sync option in the Extension settings.
All data is sent via HTTPS to our webhook endpoint hosted on our infrastructure
(n8n.srv1181056.hstgr.cloud) and subsequently stored in your personal Liddi dashboard.
3c. Dashboard
Profile data (name, email, profile picture) is collected through the LinkedIn OAuth authentication flow when you log in to the dashboard for the first time. We do not store your LinkedIn password.
4. Why We Collect It (Purpose and Legal Basis)
- Form data (liddi.app): to manage early access requests and send you access to the product. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR - your explicit consent when submitting the form.
- Analytics (GA4, Clarity): to improve the website experience. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR - your explicit consent via cookie banner.
- Extension post data: to populate your personal Liddi dashboard with your LinkedIn post analytics and generate AI-powered editorial suggestions. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR - performance of the service you requested, and Art. 6(1)(a) - your explicit consent when you trigger a sync.
- Dashboard profile data: to identify your account and personalise your experience. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR - performance of the service you requested.
Data collected through the Extension is used solely to provide the core functionality of Liddi and is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the service. This is consistent with Google's Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements, and with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines for Safari extensions, and last the Firefox Browser extensions Guide.
5. Data Storage and Retention
Form data: retained until you request deletion or until 12 months after your last interaction with Liddi, whichever comes first.
Extension — local storage: sync timestamps and the UUID are stored in your browser's
localStorage on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you trigger a sync.
Extension and dashboard — server storage: synced post data and profile data are stored on your personal Liddi account. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from your dashboard, or by writing to privacy@liddi.app.
We retain account data for as long as you maintain an active Liddi account. If you delete your account, all data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
6. Data Sharing, Third-Party Services, and AI Processing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial or advertising purposes.
We use the following third-party services. Each acts as a data processor under GDPR and is contractually bound to protect your data:
- Tally (form provider): processes the data you submit through the early access form on liddi.app. See Tally's Privacy Policy.
- Hetzner / Hostinger (infrastructure): our webhook endpoint and database are hosted on these providers. Your synced post data passes through and is stored on their servers.
- Anthropic (AI analysis): the text content of your LinkedIn posts is sent to Anthropic's API (Claude) to generate performance analysis, editorial insights, and post drafts. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Anthropic does not use your data to train its models. For more information, see Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- n8n (workflow automation): our backend automation layer, used to route data between the Extension, our database, and AI services. No data is stored permanently by n8n beyond what is needed to complete each workflow execution.
- Google Analytics 4 (analytics): activated only with your consent. Processes anonymised usage data about how visitors interact with liddi.app. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft Clarity (session recording): activated only with your consent. Records anonymised heatmaps and session data to help us improve the site. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
We may also disclose data if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority.
7. Cookies and Tracking
Browser Extension (Chrome, Safari and Firefox): does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics SDKs, or any third-party tracking scripts.
liddi.app (website): uses a cookie banner to collect your consent before activating any non-essential cookies. The following cookie categories are used only with your consent:
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4): to measure site traffic.
- Session recording cookies (Microsoft Clarity): to record anonymised navigation sessions.
Strictly necessary cookies (e.g. session authentication on the dashboard) are always active and do not require consent. You can withdraw or update your cookie preferences at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer of the website.
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@liddi.app and we will delete it immediately.
9. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:
- Right of access: you can request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: you can request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure: you can request deletion of all your data at any time.
- Right to restriction: you can request that we limit how we process your data.
- Right to data portability: you can request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object: you can object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent: you can withdraw consent at any time — for the Extension, by disabling Auto-sync or uninstalling it; for cookies, via the cookie settings on the website.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@liddi.app. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Italy, this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
10. Security
All data is transmitted exclusively over HTTPS. We apply industry-standard security practices to protect data at rest and in transit. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Use of the Extension and LinkedIn's Terms of Service
The Liddi browser extension reads publicly visible data from your own LinkedIn activity pages in order to provide you with post performance metrics. This technical operation may be considered automated data collection under LinkedIn's User Agreement and Terms of Service.
We have designed the Extension to operate in a manner consistent with normal browsing behaviour — it does not simulate rapid automated requests, does not access third-party profiles, and does not interact with LinkedIn's private APIs.
However, we cannot guarantee that LinkedIn will not interpret the Extension's activity as a violation of its terms, and we cannot be held responsible for any restriction, suspension, or termination of your LinkedIn account that may result from your use of the Extension.
By installing and using the Liddi extension, you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your use of it in relation to LinkedIn's terms, and that Liddi disclaims any liability in this regard.
